Inniskillin 2007 Riesling Icewine

I would say that Riesling is the second biggest icewine in Ontario, right next to Vidal. Those who have paid attention to the icewine scene know that we (Ontario wineries) make icewine from anything that grows (grape-wise), but Riesling seems to have taken a real foothold as the second white grape for this style of wine (in Ontario – it has been forever been making Eiswein in Germany), it just seems that it makes a more finesseful icewine. Cave Spring 2006 Indian Summer Riesling

For those of you with the love of Icewine but without the deep pockets to match your taste, let me suggest a little something that might save your tastebuds from hating you, Late Harvest wine. Then comes the taste, baked and spiced cherries and strawberries along with sing and zing on the tongue … great long finish too. Price: $39.95 – ...

Kittling Ridge 2005 Vidal Icewine

Reviewed in late 2008 this wine has at least another year on it than many of the other Icewines available these days, that’s not a bad thing if you dig the more interesting nuances of aged Icewine. Here we have caramel apple, apricot and baked pear on the nose; while the palate gives us a plethora of apples and spice … very nice. Price: $43.95 – 375ml...
