Description
If you’re a fan of Pinot Noir, you must salivate over the Prince Edward County area because their soils have been compared with the best in Burgundy. Every winery in the county is producing Pinot, trying to make good on the promise of the comparison, but very few are getting it just right. Rosehall Run is one of those who know what their doing, and not trying to “new world” the flavours with their over-extracted fruit flavours and muting of the earthy tones. This St. Cindy Pinot is just what you’d expect from a good Pinot Noir, on both the nose and taste: strawberry and raspberry fruit, oak and earth for the “dirty” smells. Flavours follow thru from the promise of the nose with red fruit, sweet cinnamon and heavy oak tannins along with that telltale earthiness. This one I can see lying down for another 5 to 7 years easily.
