Description
One sniff and one sip and you can see why this wine won Best Cabernet Franc at this year’s Cuvee awards competition. This is a perfect example of what Ontario Cab Franc should be. Look for black cherry, blackberry, rhubarb, sweet vanilla and cinnamon on the nose, with blackberry, cherry, sweet oak and good tannin structure in the flavours. This is one delicious wine – rumour has it that there was some micro oxigenation used in the making of this wine … that’s where oxygen is put through the wine to help the drinkability factor, making it ready to drink sooner, then if it was aged naturally, where it would have had to wait a few years before it was this ready. Whether you agree with aging a wine this way or more naturally is a personal preference … but this is still a wonderful wine and worth a multiple purchase at either the LCBO or at the winery. The Who had a song in which they sang: “I call that a bargain, the best I ever had.” They might have been speaking about this wine.
