Description
I am not convinced that Dan likes whites very much. At the launch of this wine he is quoted as saying “[it’s] a compromise between my almost bitter palate and the Chardonnay that Niagara is known for … I’m satisfied with it.” This wine exhibits a very soft nose that is almost imperceptible as to what is in the glass; after 12 months in French oak, I was expecting a little more than what I got. The softness continues in the mouth and instead of oaky it’s tropical fruit and pineapple … but very little of either is expressed. Not my favourite Chardonnay or even close to the best I have ever tasted; in fact I would have to slap it with a “pretty generic” label. Sorry Dan.
