13th Street Winery 2005 Riesling

Hits:1570
Rating:Nº votes
Date added;:28.Dec.2008
Author :Michael Pinkus - Grape Guy
DescriptionDescription  The 2005 Rieslings are proving themselves to be very good, but they still require some time in bottle to tone down the tastes and mellow out the acids. I find most producers are being forced to release them earlier than they want to because of the high demand for Riesling this time of year – and last year’s vintage is mostly, if not all, sold out. 13th Street has made another doozy – with an inviting sweet pear and citrus nose. This wine is playful in the mouth with a little fizz. There’s some apple-y goodness along with a medium long finish – in short, it’s like fizzy apple juice with a splash of citrus on the finish, quite pleasant and refreshing. Great with salmon.
