Description
Any of you who have visited the Grange of Prince Edward County know that it’s an absolutely stunning piece of property – from the long driveway, with the vineyards on your right as you meander down the drive, to the beautifully restored barn, outbuildings and pond. But as we all know, it’s one thing to have a showpiece place, but the real question for visitors to a winery is: can they make wine? The answer is yes, and quite well, I might add, as this delicious Riesling can attest to. A luscious nose of apples, pears, lemons and tangerines, following through on the palate with floral notes, orange rind and a lovely lime finish. The wine is low in acidity, so it’s smooth and easy drinking – built more for by itself enjoyment than a food accompaniment – but, hey, we all need one of those on occasion. Semi-sweet, flavourful and just the right taste … quite enjoyable.
