Rosehall Run 2004 Sullyzwicker

DescriptionDescription  Here are two questions you should be asking yourself: What’s an Ehrenfelser? And what in the world’s a Sullyzwicker? But no matter what answers you get, you’ll just have to trust me when I tell you, you’ll drink it and you’ll like it. According to Dan Sullivan, winemaker and viticulturalist of Rosehall Run, Ehrenfelser is a Riesling cross. He blends 94% of estate grown Ehrenfelser with 6% Niagara Gewurztraminer and comes up with this lovely summertime/anytime drink he calls Sullyzwicker … which goes great with salads and vegetarian appetizers. An exotic fruit nose of peaches, apricots and pears greet you. Your first sip will confuse your tatsebuds, because it does not taste like it smells. You’ll ponder and wonder and think to yourself “this taste is indescribable”. Then it’ll hit you: it’s a light, lively and refreshing lemonade with some great tartness on the finish which gives it just the right amount of zing: delicious and very enjoyable. Great continuous replay in the mouth, as it coats the inside, allowing you to enjoy it for a long time after the initial swallow. What’s an Ehrenfelser and what in the world’s a Sullyzwicker? Who cares when it’s this darn good.
