Colio Estate Wines 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon

Author :Michael Pinkus - Grape Guy
DescriptionDescription  It starts out as a simple sipper, but ends with some complexity, making this wine simple yet complicated, know what I mean? The nose shows plenty of promise, there’s lots of red berry fruit (primarily raspberry), you’ll also find some black pepper and sage spiciness, with cedar and vanilla thrown in for good measure. The taste is even more rewarding, a slightly bitter tannin grip and woodsy notes at the forefront, but as it makes it’s way through the mouth it gives way to a finish of cinnamon, cherries and vanilla … a taste treat that’s well worth the harsh beginning.
