Vineland Estates Winery 2004 Semi-Dry Riesling

Author :Michael Pinkus - Grape Guy
DescriptionDescription  As the weather warms up the body and mind start to crave cold whites – instead of the heartier innard-warming reds of winter … so on a warm evening we cracked this bottle open and were floored … first by a virtual fruit cocktail of smells, notes of apples, pears, peaches caress the nose. Thankfully the taste followed through on the nose’s promise, with ripe delicious apples and honeydew melon and a touch of cucumber to tone down the melon’s stronger influence. Good balance of sweetness to acidity, with a pleasant citrus-zing at the end. On this night we found the Riesling went very well with our Mediterranean dinner of falafel and salads.
