13th Street 2005 Gamay Sandstone Reserve

DescriptionDescription  Another in my series of “to chill or not to chill” reds. Unchilled, this one leans towards strawberry earthiness on the nose, and earthY-dark fruit on the tongue. But stick it in the fridge for a couple of hours and you get more vibrancy of fruit. The strawberry takes off, leaving much of the earthiness behind, while the mouth becomes more fun, showing cherry - licorice notes; the earthiness also disappears here and becomes almost candied. For my money, it changes the wine completely, and for the better. But how you like to drink it is completely your decision.
