Description
If you like apples, you’ll love Archibald’s – a winery centered around wines made from apples. One of my favourites is their Spiced Winter Apple, a beautiful and intoxicating fireside wine if ever there was one. Amber in colour, like an aged Vidal icewine, the nose is pure apple juice mixed with nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger aromas. On the palate, it’s even better – the apple juice persists but along for the ride is honey, cinnamon and a variety of other spices and a touch of maple syrup. The best part is that well after you swallow you’ll still be feeling the warming effects of the cinnamon in both the throat and on the tongue. Lengthy never tasted so good.
