Description
There are only a handful of these out there (sparkling icewines), in fact, I can only think of one other producer off the top of my head, but Magnotta was the first to try the combination of putting bubbles into an icewine (and not vice versa). This sparkling Vidal is an interesting mix of sweet, refreshing and light. Icewine, by its very nature is sweet and this one is no different with apricots, apples and honey (both on the nose and taste) – some find icewine to be thick and heavy with all that sweetness, but the bubbles lighten it up and take away the thick syrupy effects. Instead, it’s light and foamy in the mouth … turns out to be very refreshing and tasty too. Better than just the curiosity it could have turned into.
