Description
For a Chardonnay-aphobe like me to tell you I absolutely loved a Chard is unheard of, but here I go. Le Clos Jordanne is the winery that might never be, since Constellation bought out Vincor, but that has not stopped winemaker Tom Bachelder from crafting some great wines. This house, owned by Vincor (Constellation) and the French wine giant Boisset, makes Pinot and Chardonnay (see the 2005 Village Pinot Noir review), and since they so limit themselves by specializing you have to believe that what they make has got to be made well. Take this Chardonnay for instance - the nose is primarily sweet vanilla oak, and it's beautiful, almost sucking you into the glass to get closer to it. That's followed up by some great fruit in the mouth (melon and a touch of tangerine) along with vanilla, butterscotch and sweet yet supple oak nuances ... I could sip on this one forever.
