Cave Spring 2006 Riesling

DescriptionDescription  Cave Spring can be one confusing place, if you let it. I'm not talking about the wine store, the restaurant, or trying to find the bathroom. No, what I'm talking about is the Riesling selection. Cave Spring has seven different kinds of Riesling to choose from, so where do you start? Well this 2006 Riesling is one place: with its suck-you-in nose of peaches, apples, talc and the faintest hint of petrol. The taste is slightly sweet on the front part of the palate with lots of peach flavors, but then it kicks into another gear and brings lemon and citrus nuances to the finish. Sounds like a typical Ontario Riesling, but Cave Spring wines are anything but typical, especially when it comes to their Rieslings.
