Creekside Estate 2004 Reserve Meritage

Description
This Meritage from ’04 foregoes the Cabernet Franc and instead relies on 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot. Not only that, but almost 2 years (23 months) of barrel age has added some punch and ageability to the wine. It has a beautiful nose, which is rich and robust with blackberries and vanilla leading the way at this time. The mouth kicks it into gear relying mainly on those robust tannins from the barrel, you’ll find at present cinnamon is the spice of choice and blackberry to be the fruit. Give this one some time to really shine and you won’t be disappointed – store at least 2 years before drinking or decant for immediate consumption … you bring the wine, I’ll bring the steak.
