Cave Spring Cellars 2006 Dry Riesling

Hits:1559
Rating:Nº votes
Date added;:05.Mar.2008
Author :Michael Pinkus - Grape Guy
DescriptionDescription  Marilyn Monroe made us realize that “Some Like it Hot” – and Cave Spring realizes that ‘Some Like it Dry’ and thus in their range of 7 Rieslings they made this dry version. It’s claim to fame isn’t taking it’s clothes off – but it does have a killer body and it lies the Riesling grape naked for all to see with no help of it’s friend Sugar. It has a crisp, dry finish with plenty of acidity and tang. The nose smells of many things, like lime rind, tangerine, talc, tropical fruit, apples, peaches and that tell-tale Riesling sign of petrol. The palate comes in stages: good minerality at the front; ripe, but not sweet pineapple in the middle and there’s a lemon rear-end with a Clementine finish. Very refreshing.
