Daniel Lenko Estate 2005 Meritage

Hits:192
Rating:3,00 (1 Votes)
Date added;:24.Mar.2008
Author :Michael Pinkus - Grape Guy
DescriptionDescription  Lenko has never before submitted wines to the LCBO, so for his first entry, he has sent his ’05 Meritage blend (83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot) ... This one's meaty and mouth drying, built for the long haul of ten to twelve years (though it will be drinking very well at seven to eight years of age). The nose is quite spicy and peppery which follows through in the mouth with its heavy wood tannin structure, over time, the fruit will emerge to prominence, for now, it lies in waiting in the background. This is a cellar dweller if ever I've tasted one (see above for recommendations about time in said dark).
