Description
I feel sorry for anyone who hasn’t caught the Ontario Cabernet Franc bandwagon. This grape is ours, the one we should be showcasing to the world, and we could start quite happily with this ’06 model. You’d think that in a wet harvest Franc would not do very well, but surprisingly it ripened properly and it’s showing very well right now. This version was aged in only 20% new oak so that the fruit really plays a starring role here. A beautiful sweet nose of black cherry, sweet tobacco, and some hints of floral are followed rather appealingly on the palate with vanilla, black cherry and smoky blackberries … lush, smooth tannins round it off nicely. I loved both the sweet nose and fruit forward taste of this wine. Price: $38.00
