Description
Derek Barnett is at it again. I have been a fan of his Rieslings since his days at Southbrook and all these years later, he’s still producing great Riesling. This 2007 is truly outstanding – everything you drink Riesling for and a whole lot more. When you first get it to your nose, you’ll smell anise and fennel that floats around in and amongst the usual peach, floral and a bit of orangyness. Then you put it to your lips and into the mouth it goes: apples pop, lime zings, white peach coats and it finishes with a crisp, clean acidity that gets the mouth watering in anticipation for another sip. There’s also a faint hint of sweetness … beautiful; and with a lifespan of about 10 years, you’ll be able to enjoy this one for a good long time. Price: $17.95
