Description
“Waiter, more wine.” It’s a call heard at every party that going well – and winemaker Derek Barnett’s party must be going exceptionally well – this is his second Riesling so far this year. First came the 2007 Niagara River Riesling, now comes Riesling two – 30% Lailey fruit and the other 70% is a young clone brought in from another grower in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The result is a wine with a very appley nose and incredibly complex flavours. Soft yet spicy ginger, baby pears, Granny Smith apple acidity … this one’s fruity and delicious, even more perfect for summer than the first; and that’s the good news cause the first is almost all sold out … I know Derek still has a Reserve somewhere up his sleeve and now it’s just a waiting game till he brings that one out, but this one should tide us over quite nicely till he does. Price: $18.00
