Hillebrand 2006 Trius Red

Hits:1654
Rating:5,00 (1 Votes)
Date added;:21.Aug.2008
Author :Michael Pinkus - Grape Guy
DescriptionDescription  The Trius line of wines from Hillebrand continue to outperform their price point. Their single varietal (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc) deliver real value at $14.95 and are usually age-worthy for about 5-6 years (sometimes more). The red, a blend of all three grapes listed above, has a longer cellar life and still remains great value at under $20. This ’06 version has raspberry, strawberry and cinnamon smells, while in the mouth you’ll find light tannins, red and black fruit with just a tad of spices, herbs and cinnamon. This one’s not the holdable beauty that the ’05 is, but that’s just a circumstance of the growing season, but this one sure does have its good points. My suggestion is to drink these while waiting for the ’05 to come around. Price: $19.95
