Description
Ridgepoint wines continue to impress me … one of these days I’ll even pop the cork on that 2002 Nebbiolo I have from them (the first in Ontario), the one that says “not to be touched for 10 years’. To tide us over we have this Meritage blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from another hot vintage. This Meritage is a best-of-the-best barrels wine, that were produced from that year and it garnered a gold medal at the All Canadian Wine Championships in 2008. Right now it is drinking very well – with a soft and ready mouthfeel. Herbs and spice, some nutmeg, a smattering of blue and black berries along with some cinnamon spice and chocolate on the finish. Too good to pass up on. Price: $22.95
