Description
New Colio winemaker, Tim Reilly, has plenty to smile about these days. He’s made the first ever Shiraz in Colio history and he’s getting the freehand to put his stamp on other wines as well as branching out to make new ones. Take this Chardonnay Musque for instance, it might seem very one dimensional on the nose … apple; but the palate shows complexity: golden delicious apples, tasty refreshing lemon, a touch of fizzante (spritz) and a nice softness on the tongue. The wine went through partial malolactic fermentation (softening of acids), approximately 50%, so it’s creamy with a bit of bite … nice. Plus with a kiss of sweetness (1) it sure is a delicious crowd pleaser, great for end of summer get togethers. Price: $13.95
