Description
Pinot Gris is a popular grape these days, but there still is confusion between Gris and Grigio. When I tell people it is the same grape done in different styles, or say that it is Italy’s version of Pinot Gris, some still don’t get it. Just to clarify, it is in the same vein as the Syrah / Shiraz … and if you don’t get that then I can’t help you – sorry. The style of “Gris” is fruity and this Peller wine delivers that up with peach, melon and apple on the nose and a hint of apricot that seems kicking around near the rear. The taste follows the nose with the peaches, apples and honeydew melon, and they also let those hinty apricots get into the party mix. A touch of sweetness (1) with good balancing acidity, with green apple lingering on the finish. Price: $16.95
