Le Clos Jordanne 2006 Village Reserve Chardonnay

Description
The Village Reserve Chardonnay shows quite a bit of spunk for a bastard wine. These are the "declassified barrels" that did not make it into the single vineyard offerings, hence it is a bunch of vineyard's wines that had no other home than this one - orphans if you prefer. The nose contains smells of peach, pineapple core, vanilla and that lemon-lime beverage we all know as 'Sprite'. The taste is spicy and complex with buttery caramel and spiced apple amongst other flavours. For an orphan/bastard, this one has some real elegance to it. Price: $30.00
