Description
One of Ontario’s newest wineries for Riesling has been making a show of this grape since it opened. Flat Rock, for the most part, does 3 grapes, and does them extremely well: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. This single vineyard Riesling is named for owner Ed Madronich’s mom – I’ve never met the lady, but if she is anything like this wine she is one heck of a woman. The nose is mineral and citrus while the palate doles out more apple and mineral. But if you get the opportunity to try both the Rieslings this winery makes then you’ll know that this is the Riesling lovers’ Riesling, the other is friendly and tasty and the one that’ll hook ya – after all is said and done this is the one that’ll keep ya. Price: $19.95
