Description
2006 was one of those funny vintages here in Ontario - but when I talk funny I rarely mean ha-ha, I’m talking a peculiar vintage. Whites did well as they always seem to and for the most part reds will hold their own, but not for very long; as you might have chance to hear: “drink your ’06s while you’re waiting for the ’05sand ’07s to come around.” That is not to say that the 2006 wines are not good - they just don’t need much time before you can start drinking them. Take this Cabernet Sauvignon as a tasty example of the vintage: spices and herbs on the nose, which follow blueberries into the mouth and ends with a tart finish. For under 14-bucks it’s not a stretch on the budget and it’s easy to turn this wine into your everyday house wine for the next year. Price: $13.70
