Description
Some things are just meant to be: chocolate and peanut butter, caramel and apple pie, Riesling and Merlot. While the last things aren’t classic pairings let me tell you that when blended together by Cattail’s winemaker – they sure do come out tasty. This rosé (blush) is made by one of the newest Niagara-on-the-Lake wineries, Cattail Creek (which takes its name from the bulrushes that populate the back of the creek running through the property). Blending 83% Riesling with a touch of Merlot (17%) to create this raspberry, strawberry and rhubarb scented concoction that tastes like strawberries and cotton candy as it comes through the mouth, and finishes with a pleasant yet tart raspberry finish. Making Riesling and Merlot seem like the marriage was just meant to be.
