Vineland Estates Winery 2006 Pinot Meunier Rosé

Author :Michael Pinkus - Grape Guy
DescriptionDescription  A while back, I mentioned that only one winery was making a straight Pinot Meunier wine, and that was made as a dry rosé. Well it has come to pass that Brian Schmidt (winemaker for Vineland) answered the call for another straight Meunier – again as a rosé – and this time with just a dollop of sweetness (one) and a splash of something extra (Gamay Noir -10%). A nice pink wine for the summer or dog days of autumn. The nose is reminiscent of cherries, rhubarb and cranberries … while in the mouth, you’ll pick up strawberries. Once it’s cleared the palate, cherries linger with the hint of a tart finish.
