Description
This is a perennial favourite of mine made in a neat suss-reserve style. Suss-reserve is a method of wine making where you hold back some of the sweet juice (before fermenting into wine) and adding the hold over juice back into the bone dry finished product – giving the wine a hint of sweetness, as well as lowering the alcohol a wee bit (11%). The nose is simple with aromas of peach and apple, while the flavours add an extra dimension to what you taste: Granny Smith apple, lemon and nice acidity with crisp mouthfeel and a nice long finish. Not as sweet as in past years, but a wine for great summer refreshment. Price: $13.95 – Rating: ****½
