Description
Most big French houses (producers) have a “second label”, wine that delivers a little less than their main label but is usually decent value and offers up a taste of what the big gun would be like (if you chose to afford it). 2006 was not the greatest of years for red in Ontario, which is why the art of blending is so important in years like this. J.L. Groux (winemaker) has been doing it for more years than he’d like me to mention, so let’s just say he’s been at it awhile. The wine gives you red currant, cranberry, sour cherry, good acidity, a little tartiness and some nice dusty tannins. A good meal accompaniment wine. Price: $19.95 – Rating: ****
