	Colio Wines 2002 CEV Barrel Aged Cabernet Franc A perfect expression of what Cabernet Franc can be. From the wonderful 2002 vintage (are you tired of hearing that yet?) which saw a short spring, long summer growing season and optimal conditions for grapes (perfect temps, excellent ripening), all coming together to make a wonderful vintage. The nose has lots to offer: oak, green pepper, raspberry, cinnamon, nutmeg, smoke and plenty of ripe red fruit. 	Stratus - WildAss 2005 White Wildass is the second label for Stratus winery. For a winery like Stratus second label wines are those that just didn’t make the final blending cut. They went through the same barrel aging and meticulous work in the vineyard – just when all was tasted and blended they were the leftovers. This one is soft on the nose and on the palate, lots of tree fruit with a pleasing taste, it won’t stand up for the length of time the big gun will (see Stratus White) but it’s something to drink while you’re... 	Stratus - WildAss 2005 Red Rumour has it that because of the short crop in ’05 and the great growing season that went along with it – Stratus made very little of their second label red; but what they did make ended up being snapped up by the LCBO, so the only place you can pick up this wine is at your local liquor monopoly location on release day (November 22). A blend of four of the five Bordeaux grapes (no Petit Verdot) with the addition of Syrah and Gamay which adds some very interesting aspects to this wine’s flavour... Hits: 220
	Stratus 2005 Red Still in its infancy when tried so it needs plenty of aeration to get anything out of the nose or taste. Spicy, black fruit with lots of barrel notes on the nose. A little more comes through on the tongue with peppery-black fruit holding court with some cedary tones. Nice balance of tannins and acidity makes it approachable now (if decanted), or hold for a decade in the cellar. Price: $44.00... Hits: 448
	Stratus 2005 White Tropical fruit and floral aromas mix with the oaky-vanilla barrel notes. All aromas replay on the tongue with pineapple and buttery-caramel ... complex group of flavors on the tongue with a long finish. Delicious. Price: $44.00... Hits: 383
	Stratus 2007 Red Icewine A blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah that has a striking nose of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry with a hint of rhubarb pie. It’s full-on red fruit bowl in the mouth - so delectable and luscious you won't be able to stop sipping. 	Flat Rock Cellars 2007 Nadje’s Vineyard Riesling One of Ontario’s newest wineries for Riesling has been making a show of this grape since it opened. Flat Rock, for the most part, does 3 grapes, and does them extremely well: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. This single vineyard Riesling is named for owner Ed Madronich’s mom – I’ve never met the lady, but if she is anything like this wine she is one heck of a woman. 	Cave Spring 2006 CSV Riesling There is a reason you’re going to pay a premium price for this Riesling – it’s just that good. There’s a complexity here that Riesling lovers just love, and non-Riesling lovers don’t quite get, but will still love. The nose has petrol, peach and ripe apples, but it’s the mineral aspect of this wine that’s its real strong point.
