Megalomaniac 2007 Narcissist Riesling

They’ve won international awards for their labels – which means their packaging is pretty impressive, but what about the wine inside. Riesling is a staple down Niagara way so to stand out you’d better be impressing somebody somewhere along the line. This Riesling has lots of peach qualities both on the nose and in the mouth, the finish is limeade with a touch of sweetness. Velvety smooth so it glides right down and you’re ready to sip again – goody!...

Mike Weir 2006 Pinot Gris

This is a pleasing little sipper that makes no pretense at being anything else. The nose is simple, giving off apple and peach aromas. In the mouth, you’ll find the same flavours – it crisps up as it passes through, but ends with a nice soft finish … think of it as a cozy bed for your mouth – fresh crisp sheets to slide into with a soft pillow for your head....

Mike Weir 2007 Sauvignon Blanc

Simultaneously released at the LCBO with the ’06, this wine really shows its youth. The nose is grassy and grapefruit with a bit of floral sweetness … the mouth is anything but sweet: citrus, grapefruit cocktail, good acidity (that keeps you swallowing for days) and tons of finish … very summery....
