	Huff Estates Winery 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc This blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cab Franc is still pretty young – so it’ll need a little time to settle down and develop in the bottle to smooth out some of those fierce tannins and rough edges; but if you insist on trying it now, a good hour in a decanter will work wonders. Made from Niagara fruit, this wine showcases the winemaking skills of Huff’s winemaker Frederic Picard. 	The Grange of Prince Edward County 2004 Cabernet-Merlot As far as I can tell, this is the first Prince Edward County wine accepted into the Vintages program at the LCBO – hmmmm, wait, I think this is the first ever Prince Edward County wine at the LCBO period. 	Carmela Estates 2004 Pinot Noir I trust you all read my review about another Norman Hardie wine a few weeks back (2005 Riesling) – but wait, you’re saying, this is a Carmela Estates wine, not a Norman Hardie; well it just so happens that Norman Hardie is the winemaker of Carmela also. The 2004 Pinot Noir is as simple as it is delicious – made from Niagara Pinot there’s plenty of dark fruit on the nose and some sour cherry, mixing it up with earth and vanilla notes. 	13th Street Winery 2004 Cabernet Franc This really is a no nonsense wine. It’s nice, easy, approachable and ready to drink. It’s medium-bodied with a medium length finish. Ken Douglas informed me that they sampled all their barrels of 2004 Franc and decided on a few to make into this straight Franc, “the ones without the herbaceous tones to them, and the ones with more subtle nuances and flavours” – and they were right to do so. 	13th Street Winery 2004 Cabernet-Merlot It seems that 13th Street has done it again – I never got a chance to publish my review of their bold and hearty 2002 Cabernet-Merlot because it sold out before I could get it to press; so I was not about to let the same thing happen with the ’04 version.
