	Reif Estate 2007 Shiraz As we head into fall you’ll be looking for some wines that will go well on hot fall days and cool fall nights. While the weather doesn’t know what it’s going to do, you’ll want to know the wine your drinking will go well in either condition. This Reif Shiraz is a good wine for just such times, you could chill it down a little if it’s hot, or leave it at cellar temperature if it’s cool. 	Hillebrand Artist Series 2007 Meritage Talk about a perfect wine for fall. This quaffable beauty can be chilled to bring out the red fruit character or left at room temperature to mute it. The nose is red ripe cherries with a touch of raspberries … smooth and easy in the mouth with a big cherry taste and a kiss of vanilla. 	Chateau des Charmes 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon August 28, 2007 ... Chateau des Charmes seems to have made the leap from 2002 to 2005 very quickly. It wasn’t long ago that I was buying up bottles of their 2002 St. David’s Bench Sauv each time I was by the winery because I could taste the ageing potential within the bottle, and furthermore I didn’t want to be caught without at least one to drink in 2012. 	Ridgepoint Wines 2005 Meritage Ridgepoint wines continue to impress me … one of these days I’ll even pop the cork on that 2002 Nebbiolo I have from them (the first in Ontario), the one that says “not to be touched for 10 years’. To tide us over we have this Meritage blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from another hot vintage.
