	The Grange of Prince Edward County 2005 Pinot Gris The Grange courts Pinot Gris drinkers tastes with this delicious version, much in the same way Fielding Estates in Niagara, did with their 2005 Gris … the major difference is the Grange dropped the slightly pinkish hue but kept up the sweetness level. Nice sweet floral notes accost the nose and those smells follow through on the tongue with a touch of sweet, a hint of floral, and a little tangerine on the finish. 	Carmela Estates Winery 2002 Riesling You don’t usually find an aged Riesling on the shelf of a winery with a price tag this low, but I didn’t complain, as I picked up a couple of this ’02. It has softened a bit in the 4 years since the grapes were plucked from the vine and made into wine – currently it has taken on the characteristics of an older Riesling, but the smells are those of a late harvest: sweet tropical notes, honey, lychee and hints of almond. 	13th Street Winery 2005 Riesling The 2005 Rieslings are proving themselves to be very good, but they still require some time in bottle to tone down the tastes and mellow out the acids. I find most producers are being forced to release them earlier than they want to because of the high demand for Riesling this time of year – and last year’s vintage is mostly, if not all, sold out. 13th Street has made another doozy – with an inviting sweet pear and citrus nose. 	Flat Rock Cellars 2005 Twisted The tasting of this wine happened during the Father’s Day 2005 BBQ at my parent’s house. My sister-in-law, seeing a piece of paper in my hand, asked “are you reviewing this one” … I answered “yes” … “That should be fun,” she exclaimed, plopping herself down on the couch beside me. The first word she uttered was “pleasant”, but this wine was more than just ‘pleasant’, it had a complexity to its nose that caused some debate around the living room; but held little to no controversy on the palate.... 	Flat Rock Cellar 2004 Chardonnay Long ago I joined the ABC (Anything But Chardonnay) crowd – not because I don’t like Chardonnay, but because I was sick of Chardonnay. Everywhere you went everybody brought a Chardonnay and there was no imagination to what people would bring. It also seemed that it was all the same kind of Chardonnay, same style, same flavours … after awhile it just got to be too much.
