	Flat Rock Cellars 2006 Riesling The 2005 edition of this wine won Best White Wine in Canada at the Canadian Wine Awards and a recent tasting proved it was still a deliciously vibrant wine aging well under its screwcapped home. 	Flat Rock Cellars 2006 Nadja’s Vineyard Riesling Rieslings are becoming one of Ontario’s signature wines and those from the Beamsville Bench are exceptional; Beamsville fruit just seems to possess the best characteristics of really good Riesling, more so than many other places in Niagara, and the rest of Ontario. 	Flat Rock Cellars 2006 Gewurztraminer This bottle marks the first time that Flat Rock has made a straight Gewurzt … in the past most of the gewürztraminer grapes have gone into the white blend “Twisted” – along with some Chardonnay and Riesling. In 2006, the crop was big enough to warrant a straight “G-wine” from these 8-year old vines, and what a wine it is, perfect for spicy food or just straight sipping. 	By Chadsey’s Cairn 2006 Riesling When you think Riesling what springs to mind? Apples and peaches; or lemons and limes? If you think the latter then this wine is for you. With only point-three grams of residual sugar this wine is dry, dry, dry with lots of citrus zing on both the nose and palate. In the mouth, the citrus is all lemon with all the biting acidity you’d find in a tart lemonade; and it finishes the way it came in, long and lemony. A nice hit of refreshment on a hot summer’s day. 	Rosehall Run 2006 Sullyzwicker Rosehall Run has become one of those wineries that I find myself eager to find out what they are up to. Winemaker, Dan Sullivan, is a purist, and wants to continue to grow and use his own fruit (or at least as much Prince Edward County fruit), in his wines as possible. This wine is made with over 60% county fruit: all the Riesling (46%), most of the Erenfelser (49%) and some of the Gewurztraminer (5%) is from county growers.
