Special thanks to Lloyd Thistle from Fortessa Canada for providing the Schott Zwiesel stemware ... at one time on night three we had 600 glasses in use.
Thanks to Balderson cheese for providing both white wine and port cheddar to the event.
Thanks to Andrew Peller Limited for providing the reception wines, in particular the Peller Estates 2007 Pinot Gris and the Hillebrand Trius Brut. And another thank you to Rush Creek Wines of Aylmer, Ontario for providing the after-judging wine: Decadence, Strawberry-Chocolate fruit wine.
A big thank you to our other partner in this venture, Campbell House Museum, the OntarioWineReview Challenge may just a found itself a permanent home. We’ll be doing it all again come October/November, 2009 with a different grape. Be sure to vote in the online pole and have your say about what we challenge next. The poll runs from March 19, 2009 to June 30, 2009, with our next grape announced in September.
Finally, another big thank you goes out to all the wineries who entered:
Aleksander Estate Winery; Angels Gate; Black Prince; Cattail Creek; Cave Spring Cellars; D’Angelo’s; Dan Aykroyd; EastDell Estates; Fielding Estate Winery; Flat Rock Cellars; Harwood Estate; Henry of Pelham; Hillier; Inniskillin; Jackson-Triggs; Kacaba Vineyards; King’s Court; Konzelmann; Lailey Vineyard; Lakeview Cellars; Legends Estates; Long Dog Estate Winery; Magnotta; Malivoire Wine Company; Picard-McLaurin; Niagara College Teaching Winery; Norman Hardie Winery; Pelee Island Winery; Pillitteri Estates; Puddicombe Estates; Reif Estate; Ridgepoint Wines; Rosehall Run; Rosewood Estates; Sprucewood Shores; Stoney Ridge; The Grange of Prince Edward County
And remember to drink 100% Ontario wines: look for the VQA symbol on the bottle, visit one of our many grape and fruit wineries throughout the province, demand that the LCBO carry more 100% Ontario wine and less of that Cellared stuff. We make a world class product right here at home.
