(April 21, 2014) ... A good Gamay is worth its weight in gold (every Gamay lover knows that) and so was the case with this Laurent Gauthier 2011 Morgon. Fruit flavours and aromas were loaded with cherry and plum notes, and what made it even better was that I had put a good chill on it in the wine fridge. It also helped that I used my Schott Zwiesel Cru Classic Burgundy glasses to round out the acidity keeping the cherry front and center with touches of cracked white pepper and a prettiness of plum on the mid-palate ... With only 12.5% alcohol this was a really beautiful, well balanced Gamay.
