It's about time the Ontario Wine Awards showed some love to this perennial favourite of mine ... each year I try the Red and Black Paw Pinots side by side and each year my palate leans red. The 2007 version took home gold at the Ontario Wine Awards and now it's time for the '08 to be released and enjoyed. Lots of cranberry and sour cherry notes here with good acidity giving a nice fresh, clean flavour. The fruit is ripe and tasty as it caresses the tongue with a strawberry-cranberry mix before hitting you with that cleansing acidity. Price: $24.95 - Rating: ****
