Undercurrent are wines that don't follow the main stream wines of Creekside, they are those barrels that don't fit in to the profile of the final blend, the grape variety that just doesn't quite belong, or the experiment that took a turn for the interesting. This particular blends is not one you`d expect to find too often in Ontario, but in a robust/hot year like 2007 it's not surprising to see it. Red berries along the lines of raspberries and cherries mixed with white pepper and chocolate, all held together by a pretty firm tannic backbone ... interesting indeed, and worth a place at the table beside your next steak dinner.
