If this didn’t say Ontario on the label I’d have sworn this wine was South African. This Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon blend is 7 years old, which might account for its coffee bean smokiness, dried raspberry and smooth, to the point of being round, mouthfeel. This is not for everyone, it’s a curiosity wine for sure, but with the blackberry, cassis and earthiness that creeps in, after 30 minutes open, it is definitely one you’ll want to experiment with.
