This is one of the nicest most well rounded Delaine Vineyard wines I have ever tasted, and that’s saying a lot considering the Delaine series have been some of J-T’s best wines over the years. This one really brings everything together in a complete package. The nose is a touch smoky with some anise notes along with blackberry and mocha. As inviting as the nose is the palate is even more so. Beautiful fruit flavours of cherries and blackberries with a deft use of oak so as not to be intrusive on the fruit or the silky tannins; there’s even a little mocha on the finish that helps bring the whole thing together.
