Here's a wine that fulfills a number of LCBO mandates: organic, inexpensive and Ontario ... which would just make it a shelf filler if it wasn't also good. Made from 100% Vidal (yes, the icewine grape) - the nose is peachy throughout; while the palate has hints of pear, peach and lemonade with good balancing acidity to counteract that slight sweetness. At only 9% alcohol this should be a lunchtime on the patio staple; it'll make going back to work not so difficult. Price: $14.95 - Rating: *** 1.2+
