Let's get ready to rumble ... this Riesling made from 15 year old vines and named after Sue-Ann Staff's great-great-great-great grandfather has some real fight in it, mainly between the sweet notes and dry acid bite, which makes it fun to sit and sip on to see who wins each battle of the palate. The nose is mineral and limeade driven, while the palate squares off with peach and pear on the sweet side, green apple and mineral on the dry side - there's also a nice length to the finish, which allows the battle to rage on pleasantly for quite some time.
