When people ask me about Rieslings there are a handful of producers I always mention, Thirty Bench would be on that list because they make such an array of them, 4 to be exact: 3 single vineyard offerings, and this here blend. It’s not always as focused as the other three, but it does combine the best of all their vineyards into one glass. 2009 was kind to the Riesling grape, as long as you like your acids high. In this one you can almost smell the minerals and acidity coming from the glass as you pour the wine. Lemon, green apple and loads of acidity hit the palate all with a medium length finish.
