Here's a very yin-yang kinda Pinot Gris that seems to straddle the line between Gris and Grigio. The nose screams Gris with plenty of peach, apricot, some exotic fruit like pineapple core and hints of floral ... all adding aromas to the nasal party. But the palate gives way to lemon, lime, lemon pith/rind and a slightly bitter grapefruit note, but then relinquishes its citrus tones for a pineapple finish - pretty interesting indeed. The wine has a darker than usual colour without veering into the salmon/apricot effect some Gris get. Price: $16.95 - Rating: ****
