Rosewood Estates 2012 Mead Noir
I have always said that honey wines (mead) always smell, to more or lesser degree, of hockey card bubblegum and this one is no different, but with a more toned down effect. Rosewood blends mead into Pinot Noir to "sweeten" it up a bit. The Pinot strawberry and cherry notes show through especially on the finish ... this is a very sippable and fruitier version of the Mead Noir than of previous vintages. Price: $25.00 - Rating: ****
