Hot vintage whites are always interesting young ... it's their longevity that is in question. This 2012 Semillon from a producer that is bound and determined to make Semillon famous in Ontario is quite a lush and tropical affair. The nose is full of pineapple notes and that is carried over to the palate with hints of something grassy - though they promise there is no Sauvignon Blanc in this wine and has not been since 2007. And even though there is a whopping 14.6% alcohol (the highest ever in this wine for Rosewood) it is incredibly well balanced - enjoy more than one of two glasses at your own peril, the wine is addictive-ly good but it is bound to pack a wallop.
