As a non-Chardonnay fan I find I have producers that consistently drag me back into the fold, Coyote's Run is on of those producers. In his 30 vintages in Ontario, winemaker Dave Sheppard's consistency no matter what the vintage brings, is amazing. This 2011 version has a decent amount of acidity along with notes of creamed corn, hazelnuts and mac apple ... also look for some smoky and toasty notes here, plus a nice long finish. It's not the best Chard to come out of the Coyote but it's nothing to sneeze at either. This one needs some time to settle. Price: $19.95 - Rating: *** 1/2+
